Why do some leaders flourish in whatever they do, while others with greater potential don't finish the race well? Why do some leaders bounce back after a difficult leadership season, while others run out of gas and quit? What makes the difference?

In this workshop we will look at two powerful leadership skills: emotional intelligence and resiliency training. Emotional intelligence training teaches leaders to read two critical factors in any leadership dynamic: themselves and others. Reading oneself protects a leader from over-reacting and burn-out. Reading other people's emotional reactions gives a leader the ability to respond appropriately so that the outcome has greater potential for success. Resiliency training focuses on how to bounce back after a difficult or discouraging event. It looks at several key skills that will help leaders get up and go forward after a disappointing or exhausting time in ministry.

This practical workshop help you develop these two essential skills, so that you can become more successful and effective in your leadership & ministry role.

Presenter:   Dr. Paul Spate

Dr. Paul Spate has a DMin from Carey Theological College in which he researched the role of Emotional Intelligence in the pastorate.  Paul has been the Senior Pastor of First Baptist, Ponoka for the past 25 years.

He loves developing Christian leaders, and for several years has sought to assist church leaders and pastors in the area of emotional intelligence and resiliency training.
